SUMMARY

 JOB DUTIES

  • Provides oversight and staff supervision, and compiles reports as dictated by BHS administration and grant requirements. Works with evaluation staff (quarterly) and SAMSHA GPO to ensure all grant requirements are met.
  • Attends all required BHS and FNA meetings, including grantee meetings and BH Council meetings. Attends professional meetings, workshops and trainings as required.
  • Monitors and maintains requirements, specific conditions, and fiscal accountability, ensures all project compliance is carried out and project goals and objectives are met
  • Directly supervises the Healing the Hurts project, to include planning, directing, monitoring, and coordinating services of the project. 
  • Initiates and/or assists in writing federal and state grant requests in cooperation with the FNA Planning & Development department.
  • Plans, collaborates, and consults with other FNA departments and outside agencies to complete needs assessments, quality assurance and evaluation, as well as act as liaison for the Healing the Hurts project.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA. Maintains overall compliance with CARF accreditation standards.
  • Oversees fiscal management, including analyzing and/or assisting with budget development, abided by FNA policies and procedures.
  • Supervises staff in a manner that motivates and enables them to do their job effectively and efficiently. Fosters a team spirited approach.
  • Develops and maintains internal and external systems and procedures for monitoring, reporting and evaluation of project and administrative effectiveness.
  • Prepares all project reports in an accurate and timely manner according to established FNA policies and procedures.  Ensures timely submittal of all reports including monthly reports to administration and all reports required by granting agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of effective trauma-focused treatment services.
  • Skilled in working with consumers who have experienced traumatic events. 
  • Ability to interface with consumers who have been exposed or experienced traumatic events.
  • Skill in thinking critically, problem solving, time management, and independent decision making.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, agencies, and consumers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
  • Ability to effectively delegate duties, set standards for performance, and ensure accountability of all project staff.
  • Ability to read, understand, implement, and manage state and/or federal grants.
  • Knowledge of and skill with computer operations and projects such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native populations.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; a combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in project management
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the field of behavioral health
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience serving Alaska Native/ American Indian consumers.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience in serving the youth population.
  • Experience providing culturally specific projects to Alaska Native and American Indian populations.
