Strategic Prevention Framework

Strategic Prevention Framework

Fairbanks Alaska Native Strategic Prevention Framework is also known as Fairbanks SPF.

The program goal’s are to prevent the onset of and reduce the progression of alcohol abuse among youth among 9–20-year-olds in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. We also want to reduce the consequences and related problems of alcohol use/abuse. This is managed by a strong community group known as the Behavioral Health Community Coalition with an annually updated infrastructure plan. We work with lawmakers, police, public safety, juvenile justice, and liquor stores on environmental strategies to effect change in policies, laws, ordinances to limit alcohol access and harmful consequences of alcohol use.
