Athabascan Behavioral Health Center
The project will develop a “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic” to transform the community behavioral health system and provide comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health care.
We use cultural heritage education to promote pride in culture, encourage social independence, and gain personal responsibilities and leadership skills.
The following goals guide the clinic:
- Increase access to and availability of high quality services that are responsive to the needs of the community.
- Support recovery from mental health and substance abuse disorder challenges via comprehensive community-based mental health and substance abuse disorder treatment and supports.
- Use evidence-based practices that address the needs of the individuals the CCBHC serves
- Continually work to measure and improve quality of services
- Meaningly involve consumers and family members in their own care
Proposed new mental health service units include:
- Crisis mental health with a 24-hour mobile crisis intervention team
- Mental health outpatient
- Mental health outpatient for members of the armed forces
- Psychiatric rehabilitation
- Primary care clinic
All existing and new services will be provided and integrated into the service umbrella of the clinic, primarily co-located in the same building to create a one-stop shop for the entire continuum of care.
