FNA Tribal Home Visiting program is a comprehensive early childhood education and family support program designed to honor traditional values in supporting parents as they raise healthy happy children.
Who We Serve
- Prenatal to age 5
- Alaskan Native/American Indian residing in the Fairbanks North Star Borough
- Teen parents regardless of ethnicity
- Foster parents of Alaskan Native/American Indian children
- Parents who have adopted Alaskan Native/American Indian children
- There is no income requirements
Program Goal
The goal of the FNA Tribal Home Visiting Project is to support the development of healthy, happy, successful Alaskan Native/American Indian children and families. We use the time-tested, high-quality Parents as Teachers curriculum to help you meet your parenting goals.
What Parents Can Expect
- 1 1/2 hour weekly or bi-weekly visits with certified Parent Educators
- Cultural or group connections monthly
- Annual developmental, hearing, and vision screenings
- Resource networking
- Parent/child activities that promote school readiness
