Johnson O’Malley Program
The Johnson O’Malley Program offers supplementary, culturally appropriate programs and services that meet the unique and specialized needs of Alaska Native/American Indian students in Fairbanks North Star Borough School District schools.
JOM’s elementary and secondary education services provide either a Family Service Coordinator or Program Tutor at local schools.
Family Service Coordinators offer a combination of academic assistance, attendance monitoring, support skills in social and emotional learning, parent engagement, and career/leadership activities. Tutors offer academic tutoring and support to students.
We use cultural heritage education to promote pride in culture, encourage social independence, gain personal responsibilities and leadership skills. JOM provides Native song and dance, as well as performing within the Fairbanks area, available during the school year.
