Project Goal
The Fairbanks Native Association’s Indigenous Language Project has a classroom within the FNA Head Start 0-5 program to provide effective instruction and support to Alaska Native/Native American children in the Koyukon Athabascan language as well as the English language. The goal is to develop proficiency in both languages. The project includes parent, family and community engagement.
Who We Serve
- 3 to 5 year olds
- Alaskan Native/Native Americans residing in the Fairbanks North Star Borough
- Enrolled in the FNA Head Start 0-5
- Interest in learning Koyukon Athabascan Language, Culture and Traditions
